Recent Oceans Board Game Reviews
North you really impress me with your beautiful games
Really good game, sometim game get stucked so bugfixing still needed.
I love the boardgame, and I was very much looking forward to the app-version. Sadly, it’s currently in a state that’s next to unplayable. The AI is useless, no challenge there, and the both AI and multiplayer only supports 1v1. My recommendation is to wait a few month, and hope the devs fix the game before throwing any money after this.
Frequent crashes/freezes every couple of games. It’s a good adaptation of the board game, but encountering game-stopping bugs nearly every game makes me not want to continue playing.
Faithful adaptation, but as a player of the physical board game this one is missing 2 very important components. Holding me back 1) 3 to 4 player matches. The ideal way to play this game is 3 to 4 players, and the lack of this component hurts alot. 2) turn based games. I have set 4 games up so far and waited for a player to join only to find out I lost as soon as I entered 15 minutes later. Many games give a 48 hour to take your turn option. Why not this one? Star Realms is an example.
Great until recenty. Really enjoy the gameplay but the app has crashed a lot since its been updated, it also appears to have reduced the amount of deep cards available to me since the update, even though I previously paid for the complete deck which is frustrating. Hopefully these issues get fixed because it is one of my favorite games
Game itself is amazing, the implementation itself is well done. However in just about 10 games I’ve had 2 where I can’t finish the game because the AI will be stuck thinking and then the game crashes. Very unfortunate because otherwise this would be basically perfect.
The gameplay loop itself is interesting and the asthetic is rather nice, but you need to close and open the app again in order to play more than 1 game, and it pesters you to log in. Also you cannot look at the card description from your hand
Demands account creation
Great game, with the app generally providing a good simulation of the physical game in a nice mobile form. Latest update has a rather nasty bug though, in that it requires a very long hold (with NO movement) to get the enlarged view of a card in your hand, which means that you are often playing blind in terms of what the card’s stats are. Devs have responded very well to the bug report, so I’m hopeful this will be configurable soon.
